Entrepreneurship: A State of Mind

In my opinion, some employees actually behave as model entrepreneurs, and many entrepreneurs are still acting primarily as employees…

It’s all in your mindset and in how you operate… I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in a conversation with someone that has the terms entrepreneur and businessman mixed up. Entrepreneurship is about using innovative thinking and actions to turn your unique business plan into change (or money). All while giving something back to society by solving problems!

If you want to step into an entrepreneurship path of success there are some “major keys” that you can’t skip or take shortcuts on:

Focus on the essential products

Every business revolves around providing one critical product; focusing on it is the first step in developing a business opportunity. An entrepreneur’s most valuable asset is specialization, and as an entrepreneur, your primary focus should be on providing value to your customers. This is the key to an overall strategy. Small business owners can only distinguish themselves from larger businesses by focusing on their core products.

Mapping your capabilities

The best way to develop your service strategy is to align your actual skills and capabilities with your goals. This allows you to avoid customers who do not require your expertise in a specific project. For example, if you’re really good at building things with your hands but not so great of an artist, then it’s probably not a good idea to present yourself as an architect, but you’d probably win more business if you market yourself as a jack of all trades handyman.

#MajorKey When choosing your marketing strategy, create a list of decision-making criteria your client can choose based on your expectations. Categorize yourself in each category. After that, double-check that your pattern or pitch is still on target.

Using the most effective Marketing tools

To implement the best marketing strategy you need to determine what the top two marketing tools are for the industry and figure out how you can prioritize using those tools. An example will be to shoot short-form video content and post it on Tik Tok if you’re trying to become a Makeup Influencer. It is also essential to analyze your marketing tools on a cost-benefit basis, so don’t go buying $10,000 of brand-new Sony Alpha series cameras unless you’re ready for that step.

Regularly analyze your effectiveness

It is crucial to monitor whether or not your game plan is working. You can set short-term goals to keep track of and review your plan once a month at least. If the plan isn’t creating results, you have to see if you are using the right tools for your target customer. Are you sticking to your capabilities? Did you do your research on what is working for the industry as a whole?

#MajorKey A strategy check should be performed regularly to see whether the plan is progressing as planned.

Tunnel vision on your plan

The final step is to complete the daily actions and make extra efforts to move your plan forward. Your precious time should not be wasted and used to achieve your goals.
